We’re thrilled to have another legend of the underground on O.C.D. : Alex Martin.
A very well respected mainstay in the Spanish Techno scene, Alex’s career spans 3 decades under different production aliases and releases on seminal labels like F-Com, Klang Elektronik, PIAS, Cosmos Records, Minifunk, Boozoo, Pagoda Recordings, many of which are now sought-after collectors material.
Alex is a very good friend of the label since long and a while ago he shared with us his DAT archives filled with unreleased material from the early years of his career. It took us a while, but we are now ready to give him the rightly deserved space on our Secret Sun series.
This is the first volume of a collection of never heard before music from Alex Martin under some of his several aliases, retrieved from the vaults to be finally made available to the world.Dj Silver – LCR003 [Light Channel Recordings]

B1. Cell
B2. Future DominationAdd to cartRELEASE INFO:
Returning to Lisbon’s Light Channel Recordings, DJ Silver mines the rich seam of techno’s late-century flourishing into diverse forms – from stern 4/4 to reflective electro to gorgeous, cinematic ambient. ‘P World’ takes (and merits) the whole A-side: what starts as an unadorned piano solo unfurls into a mélange of sunburnt synth washes and hazy arpeggios, as if Detroit Escalator Co. went to the beach for a day. On the B, ‘Cell’ takes us on a nostalgic flight through Incunabula-era electro, here with a remarkable melodic lead line, while ‘Future Domination’ sheds the introspection and drops us straight into the ritual pressure of a packed techno floor. It’s a timely reminder that, even during a time of confinement, music can transport us to far-flung places.Reptant – The New Adaptive Lacerta [Die Orakel]

B3. MetachrosisAdd to cartRELEASE INFO:
Reptant’s debut release on Die Orakel is an n-dimensional array of five seriously electro flavoured composites on vinyl (and digital, that is). The Melbourne based producer starts off quirky, fast-paced and slightly acidic, skillfully swerving into the laid-back leftfield of mid-to-late 90s UK IDM. At either tempi, The New Adaptive Lacerta is a truly sublime and modern classic EP.

B2. Somewhere (Z@p Remix)Add to cartRELEASE INFO
Helena returns with its 7th release, this time from Uruguayan alchemist Fede Lijtmaer.
Each of the three originals shows off his flair and musicality, be it the switch-up drum patterns and delicate keys of ‘Só Um Momento’, the more deliberate swagger of ‘Serendipia’ or the mutating synth line that weaves its aleatoric way through ‘Somewhere’ – everywhere shades of Steve Pickton, Casey Tucker, and other early UK proponents of the Detroit sound.
Finally, compatriot and friend Z@P remixes ‘Somewhere’, taking familiar but unexpected elements (Chicago house drums and Mathew Jonson synths) and turning them into something entirely modern.

B2. SilverAdd to cartRELEASE INGO:
For their 4th venture, AGT Records presents the cosmic sounds of George T and his solar-sound-system explorations. Responsible for a multitude of club ready releases in the late 90’s and early 2000’s, you can find George Thomson’s aliases in the catalogues of legendary labels such as NRK Sound Division, Stickman Records and Glasgow Underground. Thomson’s sound is a warped fusion of disco, electro and tech-house, splicing together influences from the US tribal and UK tech house scenes that were prevalent in that golden era of electronic dance music.
This is on display with ‘Some Lunar Pursuits’, as across the EP you find driving, jet-fuelled basslines that lift the tracks off the ground, while ‘Baby’ and ‘Silver’ throw about snappy percussion and dubby, reverb-drenched vocals that bring you back down to Earth and back onto the dancefloor. ‘Bass Chase’ provides a stripped-back bass heavy weapon to switch up the vibe, and title track ‘Lunar Pursuits’ is made for the afters as nostalgic synth lines float around alien house stabs, sending you back into the skies and beyond.
AGT Records is putting this one back into the stratosphere, all in good time.
