On the B, ‘Cell’ takes us on a nostalgic flight through Incunabula-era electro, here with a remarkable melodic lead line, while ‘Future Domination’ sheds the introspection and drops us straight into the ritual pressure of a packed techno floor. For their second release, the Dublin-based label Space Shepherd follows through with this killer EP by D&S – comprised of two Dutch young men named Dennis and Stephan. Here the Rotterdam-based duo present four live jams produced entirely on hardware and taking in influences from Detroit as well as early British IDM. We were really feeling the futuristic aesthetic of high tech soul epic ‘Approaching Events’, the ominous electro sci-fi of ‘Historical Synopsis’ and the emotional sunset breaks of the title track – which ended this riveting EP on a perfect note.
