RELEASE INFO:
Over the course of the year, the label has assembled four different compositions reflecting each artist’s devotion and fascination for synthesizers and drum machines. Melancholic arpeggiators, funk-driven techno grooves, and sharp-filtered vocoded sequences written by Edward Norton. Joyful minor-key bass lines carved into electro-wave atmospheres over Roland Tr-606, 808 rhythms summarize the sound palette behind “Nolla” a work programmed by Konerytmi, a brainchild of longtime electro musician Kirill Junolainen. The trance-inducing “Untitled 7” was written a long time ago by Jay Relf, Keyboardist of Astralasia & Magic Mushroom band before he left the group to work on solo projects and as Solar Plexus. “Out Of Reality” evokes transcending techno-ethereal, hope-giving atmospheres. Rickie’s sound includes tribal-obscure early 90s influences around themes of lysergic trance-inducing pads.

For their 4th venture, AGT Records presents the cosmic sounds of George T and his solar-sound-system explorations. Responsible for a multitude of club ready releases in the late 90’s and early 2000’s, you can find George Thomson’s aliases in the catalogues of legendary labels such as NRK Sound Division, Stickman Records and Glasgow Underground. Thomson’s sound is a warped fusion of disco, electro and tech-house, splicing together influences from the US tribal and UK tech house scenes that were prevalent in that golden era of electronic dance music.
This is on display with ‘Some Lunar Pursuits’, as across the EP you find driving, jet-fuelled basslines that lift the tracks off the ground, while ‘Baby’ and ‘Silver’ throw about snappy percussion and dubby, reverb-drenched vocals that bring you back down to Earth and back onto the dancefloor. ‘Bass Chase’ provides a stripped-back bass heavy weapon to switch up the vibe, and title track ‘Lunar Pursuits’ is made for the afters as nostalgic synth lines float around alien house stabs, sending you back into the skies and beyond.
AGT Records is putting this one back into the stratosphere, all in good time.

For their second release, the Dublin-based label Space Shepherd follows through with this killer EP by D&S – comprised of two Dutch young men named Dennis and Stephan. Here the Rotterdam-based duo present four live jams produced entirely on hardware and taking in influences from Detroit as well as early British IDM. We were really feeling the futuristic aesthetic of high tech soul epic ‘Approaching Events’, the ominous electro sci-fi of ‘Historical Synopsis’ and the emotional sunset breaks of the title track – which ended this riveting EP on a perfect note.
