In 2021 during the coronavirus pandemic, Gene On Earth created his production masterclass “Nuggets: The Blueprint”. This is the fifth release of a collection of works submitted by students shortly after finishing the course. The class of 2022 overcame expectations and birthed a digital compilation and 5 vinyl releases to come out during 2023. Nug-Net will continue to be a home for music written by course students. For their 4th venture, AGT Records presents the cosmic sounds of George T and his solar-sound-system explorations. Responsible for a multitude of club ready releases in the late 90’s and early 2000’s, you can find George Thomson’s aliases in the catalogues of legendary labels such as NRK Sound Division, Stickman Records and Glasgow Underground. Thomson’s sound is a warped fusion of disco, electro and tech-house, splicing together influences from the US tribal and UK tech house scenes that were prevalent in that golden era of electronic dance music.
This is on display with ‘Some Lunar Pursuits’, as across the EP you find driving, jet-fuelled basslines that lift the tracks off the ground, while ‘Baby’ and ‘Silver’ throw about snappy percussion and dubby, reverb-drenched vocals that bring you back down to Earth and back onto the dancefloor. ‘Bass Chase’ provides a stripped-back bass heavy weapon to switch up the vibe, and title track ‘Lunar Pursuits’ is made for the afters as nostalgic synth lines float around alien house stabs, sending you back into the skies and beyond.
AGT Records is putting this one back into the stratosphere, all in good time.

Helena returns with its 7th release, this time from Uruguayan alchemist Fede Lijtmaer.
Each of the three originals shows off his flair and musicality, be it the switch-up drum patterns and delicate keys of ‘Só Um Momento’, the more deliberate swagger of ‘Serendipia’ or the mutating synth line that weaves its aleatoric way through ‘Somewhere’ – everywhere shades of Steve Pickton, Casey Tucker, and other early UK proponents of the Detroit sound.
Finally, compatriot and friend Z@P remixes ‘Somewhere’, taking familiar but unexpected elements (Chicago house drums and Mathew Jonson synths) and turning them into something entirely modern.

The label from Japan “Florklang” has started up in 2016. Now Florklang is releasing the second vinyl by producer TK Lawrence from Brooklyn who debut from Irish Cavalier and played actively in Dub Pistols.
The records include “They All Float Down Here” that he expressed the influence of horror-core into creepy organ sound. Also you could hear everywhere the taste of Hip-hop and Jazz from “Tribute To Where We Come From” and “Rap Dinosaurs” in Side B.
