    Berlin-based Views – aka Atilla Fidan – always takes his time in releasing new techno material, but it’s always worth the wait. Three years on from his last EP, he’s returning to Onirik’s Garage Hermetique label with another batch of machine jams with classic electronica in their bones. There’s a whiff of early Orbital about ‘Eends’, but the weaving lead lines also speak to Aphexian melancholy. ‘Self Love’ has a rawer acidic bleep techno flavour, while Onirik gets busy on a remix of earlier track ‘Nazar’ before the deeper strains of ‘Arrival’ take hold.

    The Off Grid label outta Germany serves up its third 12″ here and opts for a four-tracker from various artists. TINI’s ‘WHAT WHAT’ kicks off with a bumping house cut that’s wired up with some spaced-out pads and warped synths. Rickie then gets all wonky and loose with his off-balance ‘Explosion’ which has blurts of bass and snappy low ends and GNMR’s ‘Controlled By Mefistofele’ gets more wonky and textural with smeared and smudged sounds and a nice acid bassline. Session 4000 shuts down a high-impact and fresh EP with the astral and speed-out tech with ‘C’est Wild’.

Jagged and oneiric to the finest extent, “Send It” peeps at prime Hokusai and Photek material in its first stretch, slowly making room for further spacious liquid junglism as bars run by. Cranking the 2-step/garage power levels up a notch, “Fantasmas” sends us spinning into orbit right away, while the LP’s closing track “Aurora” takes us on a languidly serene voyage of a finale, tempo slowed-down and suave trip-hop flavours exuding with increased sensitiveness.

PAWEL’S BAR is the alias of Leipzig based Marvin Uhde aka QNETE. While as the latter he’s known for sophisticated house and shows a preference for breakbeats, Pawel’s Bar is much more reserved and subtle. Its dub and downbeat structures that build the foundation on »Pawel’s Desert Trip«. Instead of faceing the dancefloor head-on, tracks like the shimmering WELWITSCHIA, the mellow MANY BIRDS or the nature-dubby PHARAOHS work excellently as companions for any life situation. It’s nothing new, but the smeared and trippy blend of late night neon colours perfectly encapsulates the music on the record – well, to us at least. It is an offering from Loops Vago that opens with ‘The Mobility Of Her Features’ with proggy chords and 90s techno drum sounds that grow in intensity. ‘Filler 4’ rides on icy broken beats with buffed up and silvery drums back by celestial chords. ‘Laughing Stock’ layers up tribal techno-trance percussion and ‘VST Atlas’ slows things right down to a nice dubbed out deep house vibe.

    After a short hiatus, Distorted Sensory Perception returns… this time in the form of a 5 track various artists release featuring music from Vertical Dimension, Encrypted Theory, Fly Insect, ANITTA & Lerosa.
    The record opens with atmospheric acid electro track titled ‘In Between’ from Malta’s Vertical Dimension (who is also ½ of Moodex). A fine example of melancholic machine-made music with a raw, emotional edge. Includes infectious drums, moody atmospheric keys and formidable basslines.

    A-side closer comes from anonymous duo, ‘Encrypted Theory’. A diced-up break-beat laden journey full of delay drenched synth parts & a bumping dubbed out bassline. A unique balance of ambient synthesis, rippling arps and frantic sliced up beats that together provide a unique sound with a mood of its own.

    B-side opens with a dark and doomy electro track dripping with Dopplereffekt vibes. ‘Greyskull’s Revenge’ from UK artist and Manchester native, Fly Insect. Titled in honour of a hardy neighbourhood cat and his pursuit for vengeance. A worthy sonic statement full of sinister synthesis.

    B2 comes from Ukrainian artist, ANITTA. Her efforts in the studio created ‘Recondite Building’. A sweet, sorrowful take on ambient/braindance/electronica. Offering warm pads, franticly morphing acid squelch-lines that dip, dive & slide over dusty broken beats.

    The record closes with a slow-mo dystopian electro number from Dublin’s Lerosa entitled ‘Discoloured’. Minimal chugging EBM-esque percussion drenched in dark Kraftwerkian style arps, heartfelt leads and a menacing bassline that carries the track and wraps up DSP’s 3rd VA and 6th 12” ever so nicely.

    Subterranean Odyssey returns with SO004, a release from the 2nd Slovenian producer on the label – Janko. His Zhutoklunac EP takes you on a journey through his style, with the A side kicking things off with Defnas – an ambient intro with dreamy vocals and a breakbeat which is very pleasing to the ears. Cleqtru carries you through to the B side with its sweeping pads and groovy bassline. The B side lightens the tone gradually with Massi which has a vocal that very appropriately asks you to “prepare for cyborg-isation” and Yecro ends the well thought-out release on a lighter note.
