RELEASE INFO:
Subterranean Odyssey returns with SO004, a release from the 2nd Slovenian producer on the label – Janko. His Zhutoklunac EP takes you on a journey through his style, with the A side kicking things off with Defnas – an ambient intro with dreamy vocals and a breakbeat which is very pleasing to the ears. Cleqtru carries you through to the B side with its sweeping pads and groovy bassline. The B side lightens the tone gradually with Massi which has a vocal that very appropriately asks you to “prepare for cyborg-isation” and Yecro ends the well thought-out release on a lighter note.

A very well respected mainstay in the Spanish Techno scene, Alex’s career spans 3 decades under different production aliases and releases on seminal labels like F-Com, Klang Elektronik, PIAS, Cosmos Records, Minifunk, Boozoo, Pagoda Recordings, many of which are now sought-after collectors material.
Alex is a very good friend of the label since long and a while ago he shared with us his DAT archives filled with unreleased material from the early years of his career. It took us a while, but we are now ready to give him the rightly deserved space on our Secret Sun series.

Returning to Lisbon’s Light Channel Recordings, DJ Silver mines the rich seam of techno’s late-century flourishing into diverse forms – from stern 4/4 to reflective electro to gorgeous, cinematic ambient. ‘P World’ takes (and merits) the whole A-side: what starts as an unadorned piano solo unfurls into a mélange of sunburnt synth washes and hazy arpeggios, as if Detroit Escalator Co. went to the beach for a day.
