Lead track ‘Lost In The System’ features retro stylings and gritty electro bass hooks. This is swiftly followed up by ‘Multislacking’, the result of a weekend spent twisting up a modular rig, with wonky bass squelches and 80s pads underpinned by slamming beats. On the flip side, ‘Culture Vulture’ introduces some heavy 303 workouts, before ‘After The Fact’ rounds off the EP nicely, taking the acid vibe in a slightly darker direction with wonky reese synth fills and jacked up breaks.

    TRACKLIST
    A1. Len Lewis - Morpheus
A2. Len Lewis - Do U Want It
B1. Mariiin - The Snake Is Changing Its Skin
    B2. Mariiin - Impasse

    RELEASE INFO:

The second release on Lapse records welcomes UK Tech House mainstay Len Lewis, who’s extensive catalogue of club music stretches across the last few decades, along with newly appraised London based DJ and producer Mariiin. The split EP supports a four track selection of old and new head down club music touching different moods.
Len’s inserts lead on the A side with the carefully sampled Matrix acapella laid across “Morpheus”, a tweaking and dusted 2 step thrill, in keeping with the left leaning spooky tone of the first Lapse release and label sound. “Do U Want It” follows in similar ilk to the self professed Sinister tech house sounds previously ventured on the likes of early Swag and Poodle Records releases of the early 2000’s that became essential points of reflection for the genre’s progression since.
The B side spans a more contemporary 4×4 influenced thread of this style that circles closer to the outer rims of techno and acid. The Italian born producer joins the label with the “Snake Is Changing It’s Skin” and “Impasse” which continue fittingly to carve their signature sound, a style consistent in their early releases on the likes of BPR and EYA Records and across their DJ sets as Pleasure Club resident.

Ode to the Mode is the new EP from Naarm/Melbourne DJ & producer Kayroy. His first for the Velodrome Recordings imprint, this record sees the producer blend his love for synth-laden italo-style house and rave-ready techno, resulting in a record that is equally suited for cloud gazing and peak club moments. The record opens with ‘Behind the Clouds’, a dense and sprawling track that pairs vibrant synth leads with crystal clear percussive work – a modern flip on a warm italo-house sound. With the EP’s title track, Kayroy takes a more club-focused approach, delivering a high-energy groove packed with buzzing 303s and an ear-worm percussive hook. The flipside sees the producer journey into hard-hitting electro territory on ‘Ping Pong Funk’, before closing out the record with the slow-burning breakbeat bomb ‘Better Late’.

    A1. Namlohssa

    B1. LKO
    B2. Phish

    RELEASE INFO:

Reissue of the 1994 debut from Phil Western and Dan Handrabur’s ‘Off & Gone’ project. A hallucinating document of the pair’s initial jam sessions and what would become the genesis of a fruitful collaboration between two key members of the West Coast electronic music scene of the 90s/00s. Four tracks of deep, psychedelic techno, including the now-classic ‘Namlohssa’. Re-mastered from the original DAT tapes.

From Dan Handrabur Dreamdoktor, Shukar Collective & 1/2 of Off & Gone:
I met the late Phil Western in the fall of 1992 on a visit to his record store, Oddysey Imports. There was always good music playing there, so I ended up hanging out for many hours, almost every day.

It was very clear we had similar taste in music, be it the new electronic wave at the time or older music like Eighties British guitar pop, and vintage rock, not to mention ambient and world beats.
A mutual friend, Robert Shea Map Music/ Discotext, suggested we get together and jam; there was a trend going on to bring one’s favorite synth to a buddy’s studio and tweak knobs.

We ended up making a couple of tracks which we showed Robert, a man with many connections in the new music business, by that I mean independent, forward-thinking labels from around the globe. His reaction encouraged us to release them. At the time, I was working on making a CD of my own music and tracks I had made with other tech- heads. Somehow the two cuts fitted quite well into the vibe of Outersanctum’s “Frequencies From The Edge Of The Tektonic Plate” which we released in April of 1993.

Sensing the possibility of a collaboration, we decided to move my equipment to Phil’s place he lived in a more permissive part of Vancouver where it was ok to work at a louder level.

Armed with two Atari 1040st with midi and various synths, samplers, and drum machines, we started crafting what was to become our most important body of work of the mid-nineties, Off and Gone, Floatpoint and others. After a visit to Lopez island where Mike Kandel 1/2 of Exist Dance had his studio, the three of us decided on the name Off and Gone and set a release date for our first EP. Needless to say, we were ecstatic about it since we were both very fond of the music Exist Dance was releasing.

This was the incentive we needed and also a psychological push to work on more material. Our sessions were lengthy; there was not much talking and a lot of playing. Programming in Notator (now Logic Audio) was tedious but rewarding; mixes were tracked to DAT tape. Some gear without memory had to stay on for days until we were satisfied with the mixes. Occasional overheating and power outages were our biggest enemies and guests to the studio who carelessly pushed keys on synths, thus ruining arpeggios…
We never used limiting or compression. We didn’t own any of that gear, relying solely on the power of our sound generating devices. No audio editing was available back then, at least not to us. A few times, we snuck into Skinny Puppy’s studio to play with their Pro Tools rig and track guitars and violin through the Eventide, which we resampled and used in tracks.

At the time, we had the feeling of doing something important for the Vancouver electronic music scene, inspiring other musicians to build studios and strive to create new, interesting music, away from the industrial sound that defined the city for several years, for which we had the utmost respect.

All the music we made together was purely for the joy of sound creation and a sincere love of dance and ambient music; without any desire for affirmation or commercial success. Throughout our relatively short but productive collaboration, there was a feeling of completing each other’s ideas very easily, without arguments, in an almost telepathic way, something I personally have never experienced again with another musician. RELEASE INFO:

The debut LP from duo Sunflower Aquarium offers a full spectrum bloom into the electronic ecosystem. Dylan Batelic (Paper-Cuts) and Thomas Martin (Furious Frank) fuse together for a 7 track collection of low-slung immersive deepness, embodying a cycle of life via the ebbs and flows of sonic seasonal evolution. A collaboration of cyber synthesis; written simultaneously Melbourne through Adelaide during late 2021, the result a refined yet spontaneous take on dubbed downtempo through to driving dance deviance.

Beginning with a birth, the stand alone Intro’s saturated glow cultivates a vivid timbre and sun kissed sub-stratosphere. Sprouting melodic constructions continue to blossom throughout the record and growing pains are welcomed with open arms, a mature moodiness brooding delicately through assured drums and fleeting Janet vocal fragments. Broken beat patterns group together and tessellate, the woven sunken bass leaves space for flickering hi hat fissure in SA-124, this groove based atmospheric momentum evolving cohesively track after track. Bright, refined concepts that linger and dissolve in your subconscious for weeks. The B Side preserves the introspective tip but dives deeper, faster; Birds Of Paradise melting organic field recordings into blissful synth voices and ricochet breaks. Bubble (Contagious Mix) feels like a midnight highway dub drive, shooting and gliding fluently; coloured lights iridescently blurred as if it was all a dream… then the closing track, which induces a sharp sense of hypnosis. Traditional techno expressions flirt with your ears, layers of repetition locked and loaded, dwindling into the abyss; conclusion of the cycle.

On behalf of rediscovery records, it is with great excitement that we announce the Hyaline EP Extended by Human Mesh Dance. New York native and multi-talented media artist Taylor Deupree, was the man behind this electronic act. Taylor was a fixture in the Northeastern American electronic music scene in so many ways. From art design for Instinct Records entire first decade of discography to being a part of legendary live acid techno act Prototype 909. He was also one half of the highly regarded Seti ambient project and by the late 1990’s thru today, he has run 12k records to over 100+ ambient releases from artists around the world. rediscovery focuses in on his debut Hyaline EP from 1993 from early on in his career (which we added 2 additional Human Mesh Dance tracks never on vinyl). A post-rave audio glimpse into the bedroom sound of the Aquasphere; Taylor’s home studio that helped give birth to the sound of Instinct Ambient. Chill out on the verge of the new millennium. Spacey melodics, futuristic visions and sci-fi themes were the inspiration for a new brand of deeper sounds that challenged listeners on couches instead of warehouses. RELEASE INFO:

Aerial Excursions LP emerged from the union of TXL (SUR, Minor Planet, Broquade) & Andser (Berlin based producer from Palma De Mallorca) from an intrinsic reflection during lockdown in 2020.
The more exposed to isolation they were, the more they needed to transform it into positivity and union, seeking it through slower & peaceful frequencies. This naturally gave them a break from their individual dancefloor-oriented projects.
Joining forces with their dearest friend Whoann on six tracks, creating a new aka called “3PS”, they turned a series of recording sessions into a magical journey.

Limited double edition of 100 copies to sell. 180gr. Black vinyl.
Contains 3 download codes for all their releases on digital format + Peace6 Sticker.
